Dr.-Ing. Matthias Schneider
Executive Director
E-Mail:
Matthias Schneider earned his doctoral degree in civil engineering at the
University of Stuttgart and then worked as a researcher under the
professorial chair for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources at the
University of Stuttgart. His research interests were concentrated in the
following areas: river engineering and river hydraulics, ecohydraulics,
hydraulic engineering design (pipelines, barrages, hydropower stations),
modeling (habitat simulations, 1- and 2D-hydraulics, dam stability),
engineering hydrology and the analysis of water supply networks. He has more
than ten years experience in the design and management of water resources
projects, which, among other things, attend to the environmental integrity
of hydraulic engineering installations, the more natural development of
watercourses and flood protection measures. He is instrumental in the
development of the habitat simulation model CASiMiR and has been executive
director at sje GmbH since 2001. Additionally, Dr. Schneider has a
teaching assignment at the Institute for Hydraulic Engineering at the University
of Stuttgart.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Jorde
Director
E-Mail:
After earning his doctoral degree in civil engineering at the University of
Stuttgart, Klaus Jorde was a researcher and team leader for the Ecohydraulics
work group under the professorial chair for Hydraulic Engineering and
Water Resources at the University of Stuttgart. His research interests were
concentrated in the following areas: hydraulic engineering design, hydropower
stations, river engineering, power production, engineering hydrology,
hydraulics of watercourses, and ecohydraulics, wherein he also had teaching
assignments in the programs for civil engineering, environmental engineering
and Water Resources Engineering and Management (WAREM). In addition to
coordinating and working on numerous projects where he provides expertise,
Dr. Jorde is a member of several national and international committees and
the leader of ATV-DVWK's committee on "Ecohydraulics." Dr. Jorde has been director at sje GmbH since 2001.

Telefon: +49-(0)711-508-876-22
Ianina Kopecki studied civil engineering in St. Petersburg (Russia) and then
completed the internationally oriented Master of Science program, WAREM,
at the University of Stuttgart. Before joining sje she was a research assistant at the
University of Stuttgart. She specializes in the areas of hydrodynamic
simulations, habitat modeling and GIS applications. Furthermore, she is
instrumental in the programming and further development of the habitat
simulation model CASiMiR.

Jeffrey Tuhtan, M. Sc.
E-Mail:
Jeffrey Tuhtan received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from
California State Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo in 2003. He has worked in the
field of hydraulics and municipal civil engineering, and is a certified Engineer
in Training (EIT) in the State of California. During this time, Mr. Tuhtan also
participated in the one-year sustainable design course "Green Building
Professionals" at the University of Sonoma. Most recently, he has finished
the WAREM Program at University of Stuttgart where his Master's Thesis work
focused on the economic optimization of small hydropower plants. He is currently
a doctoral student at the University of Stuttgart researching the effects
of short-term hydropower plant operations on fish habitats. His professional
interests also include sustainable construction methods,
especially strawbale building design. |
